"The Passion for Running" The TRILHOS DA NEXEBRA TRAIL - TNT 2026 is a mixed event with several pedestrian races along trails in natural and rural environments, in the parish of Chão de Couce, municipality of Ansião. The race route is inserted in the vast region of Terras de Sicó, passing through places whose history dates back to the beginning of the Nationality and frequently merges with that of the population. You will have the opportunity to walk paths with history, enjoy the magic of old villages, and maintain a more direct and genuine contact with testimonies of this rich past... of longing, of flora and fauna, where the connection of its people - between the past and the future - is well demarcated. The event takes place during the weekend of May 9 and 10. It starts on Saturday, at the venue, at 3:30 PM with the TNT KIDS and then with the UP&DOWN Nexebra at 6:30 PM at the Moita Redonda location, in this parish. On Sunday, 4 races start from the venue: TRAIL at 8:30 AM; TRAIL SPRINT at 9:00 AM; MINITRAIL at 9:15 AM, and WALK at 9:30 AM. The organization is the responsibility of Lusitano Ginásio de Chão de Couce and its Nexebra Trail Team in partnership with the Chão de Couce Parish Council, Municipality of Ansião, and with the support of the Polytechnic of Leiria. The race is Certified by ATRP – Trail Running Association of Portugal and is integrated into the National Circuits of this association. It is once again part of the prestigious National University Trail Championship (CNU) by FADU. It scores for the Leiria Athletics Association (ADAL) Trail and Trail Sprint Circuit and the Municipal Trail Championship of Ansião (CMTA). This is a race recognized by ITRA – International Trail Running Association and a UTMB World Series Qualifier race. The 3rd Edition of the Trilhos da Nexebra Trail - TNT consolidated the race as a reference in promoting the landscape resources of the parish and the heritage of Chão de Couce, as well as the Ansião brand. The race was part of the Municipal Trail Championship and the ATRP Portuguese Cup. With participation exceeding 550 registrants, athletes had the opportunity to venture along paths filled with history and symbolism, running through rustic trails, some of high and demanding technicality, carved by the erosion of time in the Sicó limestone massif. Ricardo Mendes (Amadores Trail Team) became the great winner of the Short Trail. Sergio Correia (Zona Alta Trail) was the great winner of the Long Trail.

The 2nd edition of the Trilhos da Nexebra Trail was a success for the organization. With 3 new distances, it brought +120 athletes to Chão de Couce compared to the inaugural edition, surpassing 420 participants. This achievement earned high praise for the entire organization from the local press and the athletes present. The participants who framed the sports venue loved the chosen routes and trails, as well as the characteristics of the race's aid stations. For all the athletes who participated, this was an amazing event, hoping that the next edition will meet expectations.
